Department of Motor Vehicles Clarifies Rules for Over-sized Vehicles

In the July 13,, 2018 issue of the Texas Register, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles anounced the adoption of several amendments aimed at clarfying terms used in three new bills relating to oversized and overweight vehicle permits. Senate Bills 1383 and 1524 and House Bill 2319, in mandating new permitting requirments,  used terms that include “roll stability support safety system”, “truck blind spot systems” and axle distance requirements of “approximately 647 inches” and “approximately 612 inches” without further definition.
